Speedmaster XL 162-6+L. Highly efficient top-quality production from the market leader keeps the packaging print shop one step ahead of the market.
A market frontrunner, not one of the chasing pack
The Huang brothers, who own Jiangmen Artech Printing Co., Ltd. in China’s Guangdong Province, like comparing the competition in the printing industry to a race: “Constantly trying to catch the leaders saps a great deal of energy, but if you’re out front you can dictate things.” Jiangmen Artech became a frontrunner in 2006 when it started using Speedmaster technology from Heidelberg.
The Huang brothers purchased their fourth Heidelberg press in 2012, a Speedmaster XL 162 six-color machine with coating unit. This investment in the large-format printing secured Jiangmen Artech a successful position in the local printing industry. The city of Jiangmen has over 1,200 printing companies. Most of them operate in the challenging packaging printing sector, where quality and efficiency are key.
Jiangmen Artech laid the foundation for efficient, high-quality printing of spot colors in 2006 with its first Speedmaster, a CD 102 five-color press. This was followed by a Speedmaster XL 75 in 2008. In short-run packaging printing with frequent printing plate changes, the Speedmaster XL 75 really comes into its own. In addition to taking over almost 50 percent of the print shop’s workload at the time, this press also brought the company numerous new orders thanks to its excellent quality, its ability to print spot colors, and other unique benefits. Jiangmen Artech moved further ahead in 2010 by purchasing a Speedmaster CD 102 six-color press with coating unit that enabled it to produce high-quality multicolor packaging with inline coating. The company’s most recent acquisition from Heidelberg was the XL 162 in 2012. Thanks to this technological superiority, Jiangmen Artech has gradually become Jiangmen’s leading private printing company.
