“With our large-format Speedmaster XL 145 we produce 180,000 sheets in just 16 hours, including two complete setup processes,” says a highly impressed Nicola Bernini, owner of the family-run business IVAL. “I’d always recommend the press to a friend, but I’d rather not do so to a competitor,” adds company founder Alfio Bernini with a smile. “But seriously – we carried out tests ourselves and the Speedmaster XL 145 in the configuration tailored to our needs was quite clearly the best press in terms of both quality and productivity.”

Founded in 1954 as a print shop for laminated folding cartons, IVAL started producing packaging for textiles in the 1980s. Since 2000, the company’s growth has primarily been in the high-quality food and confectionery sector and the chemical industry. Some 100 employees currently work in two shifts. Folding cartons remain the company’s core business, with a full service that ranges from designing and creating prototypes to plate production, printing, die cutting, and folding carton gluing.

The Speedmaster XL 145-7+LYYL with AutoPlate XL and Prinect Inpress Control is well equipped to meet these needs. The highly productive press prints at an average speed of 12,500 sheets an hour. With six to ten job changes a day, this high productivity has been achieved by short makeready times averaging just 15 minutes since the first day after installation in May 2012.
